The
Process Is Generally Used For manufacturing
Large Small Hollow Articles. Most Of The
Products Are Made From Lidpe/hdpe. Polythylene
In Powder Form Is Poured Into A Sheet
Metal Or Cast Aluminium Mould. The Mould
Is Attached To The End Of An “arm”
Powered By Motors That Slowly Rotate Or
Spin It Biaxially In An Oven At 250-300
C, With The Charge Of Powder Inside The
Mould. This Causes The PowderTo Gradually
Melt And Sinter And Build Up A Layer Of
Polymer On The Inner Walls Of The Mould.
After The Entire Quantity Of Powder Is
Consumed And Fully Melt-sintered, The
Mould Is Allowed To Cool. This Causes
The Polymer To Solidify And Shrink, Thereby
De-attaching itself From The Mould Walls.
The Moulded Article Article Can Then Be
Easily Removed By Opening Themould. |
